Concord Road Elementary School is seeking an innovative and student-centered Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB: Position requires planning and delivering engaging art instruction that supports student creativity, artistic development, and appreciation for the visual arts. The position involves creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment, managing classroom activities and materials, assessing student progress, and supporting the school's educational goals. The role requires collaboration with faculty, students, and parents while maintaining professional standards and fostering a safe and encouraging learning environment. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach visual arts to students in grades K–4 Develop engaging lessons using multiple media and techniques Integrate art history, creativity, and cultural awareness Organize student art displays Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators Differentiate instruction for diverse learners QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with interdisciplinary instruction Familiarity with digital art tools Strong communication with families and staff Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment Bachelor's or Master's degree in Art Education preferred Experience teaching elementary students preferred Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including students receiving special education services Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards for the Arts Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills CERTIFICATION: NYS teaching certification in Visual Arts (K-12) EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by building administration.
