Elementary Teacher, NYS CertifiedThe Alexandria Central School District is accepting applications for a tenure-track elementary teaching position for September 1, 2025. Multiple certifications are preferred, but not required.A probationary appointment will be based on certification and education, NYS Education Laws, and the ACFA Teacher’s contract.We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator committed to fostering a love of learning in our elementary students. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that nurtures the academic, social, and emotional growth of young learners. General responsibilities in this role include:Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with NYS Learning Standards for elementary education.Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate these objectives to students.Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology that support diverse learning styles and needs.Differentiate instruction to accommodate individual student strengths and areas for growth.Work collaboratively with Special Education teachers and support staff to modify curricula as needed for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress through formal and informal methods to inform instruction.Maintain a positive, structured, and student-centered classroom environment that encourages engagement, curiosity, and mutual respect.Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, colleagues, administration, and community members to support student success.Serve as a positive and professional role model while supporting the mission and values of our school.Demonstrate leadership and take an active role in the school community by pursuing opportunities for extracurricular activities, clubs, committees, athletics, or other student engagements.ACS is a rural school district located in the heart of the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River in Alexandria Bay, NY. The school district has a UPK-12 population of about 500 students housed in one building with a staff of 75 full-time personnel. Our school is the hub of the community where most civic, social, and cultural activities take place.
