Classrooms follow 8:1:2 and 12:1:2 staffing ratios, serving children with a range of developmental needs including cognitive and speech/language delays.Our work environment is positive, team-based, and mission-driven—where staff are supported, appreciated, and empowered to lead with heart and purpose.What You’ll DoAs a Bilingual Special Education Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day success of our 4410 preschool program. You’ll work closely with the Principal and Assistant Principal—and as part of a team of Education Supervisors—to ensure that classrooms run smoothly, instruction stays strong, and staff feel supported. While experience in behavior management is a plus, this position focuses on classroom oversight, staff mentorship, and ensuring consistent quality across the school day.Your responsibilities will include:Supporting classroom flow, transitions, and school routinesStepping into classrooms to assist with instruction and coverage as neededMentoring and coaching teaching staff in classroom management best practicesCoordinating staff coverage, schedules, and schoolwide operationsCollaborating with clinical staff and related service providersHelping to ensure compliance with DOE, DOH, OCFS, and ACDS policiesSupporting data-driven instruction and continuous improvementCommunicating effectively in both English and Spanish across written, verbal, and translation tasksWhat We’re Looking ForIf you're a thoughtful leader with a strong foundation in special education, a love of teamwork, and the bilingual skills to support a multilingual school community, we want to hear from you! The ideal candidate will have:A Master’s Degree in Special Education (required)NYS Certification in Special Education and General Education (Birth–Grade 2 or All Grades)5+ years of experience teaching in a self-contained special education classroomPrevious experience in a supervisory, coaching, or leadership capacityStrong communication, organizational, and collaboration skillsWorking knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports (a plus)Fluency in English and Spanish, including the ability to read, write, speak, and translate in both languages (required)Why Work at ACDS Westchester?We believe that taking care of our staff helps them take the best care of our students.
