The Physical Therapist is responsible for the remediation of children with a wide range of disabilities/delays. The Physical Therapist contributes goals to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and will work on these target objectives throughout the school year. The Physical Therapist will provide quality individual and group sessions in person while working at our center-based program (no traveling required).Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM Wednesdays: 8:15 AM – 3:30 PMExcellent hours! Become a part of an experienced school building team and make a difference!Key responsibilities of the Physical Therapist (PT) include:Provide and direct physical therapy services to students as per their IEP mandatesDevelop treatment plans to achieve identified goalsAdhere to applicable principles and practices of physical therapy, APTA policies/procedures, and state regulationsCollaborate with OTs, SLPs, school psychologists, and classroom staff to support positive treatment outcomesWork effectively with parents, teaching staff, and other professionals to develop and monitor IEP servicesComplete all necessary paperwork accurately and timely (e.g., daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, annual reviews, etc.)Participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each childProvide input into and, when appropriate, assist in the fabrication of assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and orthotic appliance needsComply with federal and state Physical Therapy regulationsQualifications:Valid New York State Physical Therapy licenseMaster’s Degree or Doctorate degreeMust have experience working with childrenBilingual skills are a plus, but not requiredExperience:Pediatric PT experience preferredNew Graduates with pediatric experience considered
