ATTENTION:All Interested Personnel Certified in NYS School District Administrator or School District Leader(Must possess SDA/SDL certification)IMMEDIATE VACANCY(POSITION WILL BE CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING)Job Description:The Yonkers Public Schools, an urban district of approximately 24,000 students in Westchester County, seeks an Executive Director for Inter-Governmental Relations, Professional Learning and Accountability to enhance academic performance, secure funding through grant opportunities, and foster strong community and stakeholder engagement.This position focuses on driving continuous improvement in schools, aligning resources with district goals, and building partnerships to support educational initiatives.Reports to: Associate Superintendent for Inter-Governmental Relations, Professional Learning & AccountabilityResponsibilities:Under the general supervision of the Associate Superintendent, the selected candidate will: • Identify federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities that align with the district’s needs and priorities. • Write, prepare, and submit grant applications, ensuring they meet the specific requirements of the funding agency. • Create detailed budgets for proposed projects that comply with grant requirements. • Ensure the district adheres to the terms of the grant, including reporting on the use of funds and project outcomes. • Oversee implementation of funded projects, tracking progress, and ensuring that milestones and objectives are met. • Provide fiscal information and analysis to support grant amendments and end-of-year reports, including but not limited to vendor evaluations. • Prepare reports for both the funding agencies and the district, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding grant status and outcomes. • Monitor legislative changes in educational reform and grant requirements. • Lead communications with NYSED regarding accountability designations, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required reports and data. • Participate in all NYSED webinars, trainings, and conferences related to accountability, school improvement, and data reporting. • Work with Associate Superintendents on compliance monitoring for select grants. • Regularly visit accountability schools to provide targeted individual support for principals.• Analyze student performance data, identify areas of need, and make informed decisions to improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes.• Work closely with principals, teachers, district administrators, and community members to foster collaboration in the development and execution of school improvement initiatives.• Promote strategies to enhance communication and partnerships with families and community organizations to support student achievement.• Collaboratively and strategically coordinate professional-learning supports for participating schools to ensure continuous improvement in instructional practices and student achievement.• Ensure that schools meet state and federal accountability standards, including compliance with regulations such as Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and other relevant policies. • Report to the Associate Superintendents in Office of Intergovernmental Relations, Professional Learning, and Accountability. • Engage in continuous professional development as well as provide professional development to schools in accountability. • Carry out any and all additional duties assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his designee.Qualifications:? New York State Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL).? Prior school-leadership experience in PK-8 or HS school setting, with demonstrated track record of success in effective leadership and strategic implementation of accelerated academic growth.? Proven ability to lead data-driven school improvement aligned with accountability standards.? Experience with NYSED reporting platforms (e.g., SIRS, Level 2, etc.).? Deep knowledge of NYSED accountability systems, ESSA, and related state/federal regulations.? Knowledge of State and Federal requirements for school improvement.? Experience in guiding other school professionals to improve achievement.? Experience in supporting student achievement through strategic planning and implementation of system-wide initiatives that address instructional, administrative, or programmatic means.? Experience working on a collaborative team and understanding of cross-functional roles.? Strong interpersonal skills – the ability to form and develop professional relationships, distill ideas from a diverse group, and develop consensus from stakeholders.? Exceptional communication and facilitation skills.? Working knowledge of public-school systems, structures, and schools.? Understanding of systems thinking, organizational behavior, and adult learning.? Creative problem-solver with the ability to perform independent, thoughtful analysis around important educational issues.? Knowledge of continuous-improvement practices as applied to education.? Ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize well.? Attend Board of Education Meetings, and work extended hours, evenings, and weekends.?
