Location: DistrictwideROLE DESCRIPTION:The Staff Trainer is a “Teacher on Special Assignment” position that supports the professional development initiatives led by the Office of Teaching and Learning. The Staff Trainer will be responsible for supporting teachers by delivering training on new curricular resources, best instructional practices, and facilitating PLC team meetings and discussions. The Staff Trainer will be responsible for compiling/analyzing student data in preparation for PLC team meetings. This role involves collaborating with educators to ensure effective implementation of instructional strategies and resources, while promoting continuous growth and improvement in teaching practices. The Staff Trainer will be expected to design and lead workshops, provide individualized support to teachers, and help foster a culture of learning among staff. Additionally, the position requires the trainer to participate in ongoing professional development, stay informed about the latest research, educational trends, and best practices. Trainers will be expected to attend training/planning sessions for one week (5 Days) in August and select after-school days throughout the school year (1 day per month) (paid at the contractual rate). Position reports directly to an Executive Director from the Office of Teaching and Learning.REQUIREMENTS:New York State certification for the position in which you are applying is required (N-6, PreK-6, Childhood Ed 1-6)Complete and submit this Online ApplicationQualifications:- Minimum 5 years experience teaching- Strong Knowledge of Instructional Practices: Proven experience in curriculum design, best teaching practices, and effective instructional strategies across various elementary subjects and grade levels.- Experience with Data Analysis: Ability to analyze student performance data, identify trends, and use this information to inform instructional decisions and personalize teacher support.- Excellent Communication and Facilitation Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead professional development sessions, facilitate collaborative discussions, and provide clear, actionable feedback to teachers.- Coaching and Mentorship Expertise: Experience in providing one-on-one coaching, mentoring teachers, and guiding them through the implementation of new strategies and resources.- Commitment to Continuous Learning: Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, stay informed about the latest educational research, trends, and technological tools to enhance instructional practices.- Collaboration and Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with educators, school leaders, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of continuous improvement and student success.Please make sure to attach your resume, and your certification to this application.
