Elementary certification and/or content area certification preferred Start Date: August 1st, 2025(POSITION WILL BE CONTINGENT UPON GRANT FUNDING) DIRECTOR OF MATHEMATICS Description of position includes:Supervises and supports teaching staff throughout the districtFacilitates and coordinates curriculum development and implementation supportRecommends, disseminates and supports use of instructional materials, and ideas district-widePlans, conducts and facilitates staff development activities for leaders and teachers throughout the districtCoordinates contests, district-wide academic competitions and projects as assignedCoordinates the efforts of administrators and teachers to execute a plan for the scoring audit for the NYS Math AssessmentsReports directly to the Executive Director of Mathematics and Professional DevelopmentPerforms other such duties as assigned by the Superintendent/designeeAvailable for extended hours including occasional work during evening and weekend hoursQualifications:Minimum of 5 years teaching experienceExperience in and/or demonstrated ability to plan, organize and implement workshops, including presentations to adults and studentsKnowledge of varied teaching strategies and methods of staff development including the principles of adult learningKnowledge of use and infusion of technology, integration of language arts, including vocabulary and writing, and manipulatives to enhance Math instructionExperience in increasing student achievementGood interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written Experience in the following preferred: Testing and Assessment in Mathematics, Differentiated Instruction, Inquiry-based Learning and Teacher Coaching Responses are due on or before June 30th, 2025
