We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School English Teacher to join our educational team. As the English teacher for grades 6 to 8, you will play a crucial role in shaping young minds, fostering a love for literature and language, and providing students with the necessary skills to become effective communicators and critical thinkers. You will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment where students can develop their language proficiency, reading comprehension, writing, and analytical abilities.Responsibilities and Duties:1. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive English curriculum aligned with state standards and school guidelines. Design lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities to promote student success.2. Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive English lessons that encourage active participation and critical thinking. Utilize various teaching strategies, multimedia resources, and technology to enhance learning experiences.3. Reading and Literature: Foster a love for reading and literature by introducing students to a wide range of literary works. Guide students through discussions and analysis of novels, poems, short stories, and other literary texts.4. Writing Proficiency: Instruct students in the art of effective writing, covering various forms such as essays, creative writing, research papers, and more. Provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their writing skills.5. Language and Grammar: Teach the rules of grammar, syntax, and language usage to improve students' writing and communication skills. Encourage proper language usage and editing techniques.6. Assessments and Grading: Administer regular assessments, quizzes, and exams to evaluate students' progress and comprehension. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and provide timely feedback to students and parents/guardians.7. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, cooperation, and discipline. Implement effective behavior management strategies to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.8. Individualized Instruction: Identify and address the unique learning needs of individual students through differentiated instruction and accommodations.9. Parent and Community Engagement: Maintain open communication with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns. Collaborate with other teachers and participate in school events and activities.10. Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest educational trends, teaching methodologies, and technology advancements. Attend workshops and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.11. Extracurricular Involvement: Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities related to English, such as literary clubs, writing competitions, and spoken word events.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.- State teaching certification or licensure for middle school English education.- Demonstrated experience in teaching English/Language Arts to middle school students.- Strong command of the English language and exceptional communication skills.- Passion for literature and language arts education.- Patience, adaptability, and the ability to motivate and inspire young learners.- Proficient in using technology to enhance teaching and learning experiences.Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
