POSITION: Coordinator of Educational Programs LOCATION: Watervliet City School District START DATE: July 1, 2026 SALARY: $82,900 - $89,200, per WAA Contract Job Description: The Coordinator of Educational Programs is responsible for the leadership, development, and oversight of key district programs designed to support student engagement, achievement, and post-secondary readiness, including: a. The high school alternative education program (EVOLVE); b. Pre-kindergarten programming, including four UPK classrooms and one EPK classroom; c. The freshman seminar program (PIVOT) with college/career planning; and d. Work-based learning programming that supports students in earning the CDOS credential. This position, which reports to the Assistant Superintendent, ensures that all assigned programs are effectively implemented, aligned to district goals, and responsive to student needs. Implementation responsibilities include, but are not limited to: reviewing and supporting curriculum development and alignment to New York State standards; coordinating and supervising educational field trips and experiential learning opportunities; leading public relations and communication efforts to promote programs; developing and executing student recruitment strategies; organizing and facilitating parent meetings and family engagement opportunities; and serving as a liaison with outside agencies, community organizations, and workforce partners to expand opportunities for students. In addition, the Coordinator assists in the development and implementation of individual student plans, including crisis, behavior, safety, and attendance plans, ensuring that students receive appropriate supports that promote engagement, accountability, and success in school. A responsibility of this role is the supervision, observation, and evaluation of instructional staff in accordance with the District’s APPR plan. The Coordinator works collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, and support staff to strengthen instructional practices and ensure program effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Valid New York State SAS, SBL, SDA, or SDL administrative certification is required; 2. NYS valid Lead Evaluator certification required; 3. Knowledge of NYSED requirements for students and Next Generation Learning Standards; 4. Ability to create an environment with high expectations, accountability, respect and integrity; 5. Strong communication, collaboration and organizational skills; 6. Ability to work with students/staff in varied social/cultural backgrounds; 7. Ability to demonstrate job expectations; and 8.
