Position: ELA Teacher - 9th Grade Seminar (PIVOT) Location: Watervliet Jr-Sr High SchoolStart Dates: September 2, 2025 Salary: $55,281 - $69,834 (per WTA contract)Job Description:1. Plan culturally responsive lessons/units to a rigorous curriculum.2. Prepare freshmen with the skills necessary to be successful in high school and prepare them for college and employment. 3. Implement various teacher strategies to facilitate learning amongst diverse learners while providing regular feedback to students that encourages their growth.4. Arrange guest speakers and college visits to help students identify future goals.5. Embrace student strengths and identity to create a learning environment that is highly engaging and relevant to students6. Work collaboratively with school leaders, teachers, related service providers, support staff, students, and families to ensure all students achieve success.Minimum Qualifications:1. Must possess current NYS Certification in English Language Arts 7-12 or Business2. Ability to work with students/staff in varied social/cultural backgrounds.3. Experience working with secondary-aged students preferred.4. Ability to demonstrate job expectations.5.
