The Watertown City School District is looking for an experienced secondary principal to serve as our Executive Principal for Watertown High School. Watertown City School District principals have the primary responsibility for establishing schools as active learning centers with a focus on student engagement, professional support for teachers, instructional practices that lead to steady academic progress, and measurable results. The Executive Principal for High School is responsible for the instruction, management and personnel administration of the 9 – 12th grade high school building. The Executive Principal will be responsible for its operation in the areas of instructional/curriculum leadership and development, personnel, budget management, and community relations. Candidates should have: ·A passionate belief in the capacity of all students to learn and succeed,·Demonstrated instructional leadership that are yielded success in raising student outcomes and graduation rate, ·Experience working effectively with students and families, and outside partners to support social, emotional and wellness success, ·Ability to create a sense of belonging among a diverse population of students and families,·Deep understanding of the teaching and learning process, and how to create high-performance learning environments, ·Personal sense of accountability around student academic progress, carried out through effective instructional leadership and staff support,·Ability to understand and use data to drive decision making, ·Consensus building, strategic and collaborative management skills.The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of middle/high school teaching and/or administrative experience.
