The district, located just 25 miles east of New York City in Wantagh, NY, includes three elementary schools (K-5), one New York State Essential Elements School to Watch middle school (6-8), and one National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence high school (9-12).The Wantagh School District has an anticipated vacancy for a probationary Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. This position will report to the Assistant Superintendent for PPS and the Supervisor of Special Education. Responsibilities include:Employ the use of direct observation, measurement, and functional analysis of the relationship between environment and behavior to create Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Positive Support Plans to improve behaviors.Provide effective behavioral strategies and plans to the school team for persons with autism and autism spectrum disorders and related disorders.Serve as consultant to teachers and staff in behavior treatment for students.Maintain data, analyze data and assist in programming. Must have strong documentation skills.Work and communicate with School Principals and educational teams.Provide training and support within the school setting by assisting with the behavioral needs of the students.Participate and contribute to CSE/CPSE meetings.Input relevant sections of IEPs.Administer FBAs when assigned.Other duties as assigned.
