The successful candidate should:promote a positive classroom environment that focuses on student-centered and student-driven learning experiences.possess a deep understanding of and proficiency in English language and literature, the reading and writing workshop models, the New York State Next Generation English Language Arts Learning Standards and the NYS English assessments (Grades 7-8 English Language Arts tests; English Regents exam).develop and implement differentiated lessons that are consistent with the district’s goals and vision for learning.enhance and facilitate critical learning processes by seeking out, acquiring, and sharing the most pertinent and up-to-date resources (print, electronic, audio/visual) with students, faculty and other community members.collaborate with colleagues to horizontally and vertically align curriculum, enhance instructional practices, and meet district academic goals.support students in becoming civic-minded, empathetic, and caring learners and citizens.effectively communicate with students and their families.
