The district, located just 25 miles east of New York City in Wantagh, NY, includes three elementary schools (K-5), one New York State Essential Elements School to Watch middle school (6-8), and one National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence high school (9-12).The Wantagh UFSD is seeking a skilled, caring, and dynamic School Psychologist to fill a leave replacement position for 12 weeks with a potential for longer, who is able to perform the professional responsibilities below:Conduct psychological assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to maximize learning and overcoming psychological issues.Experience in administering and scoring psychological evaluations.Writing reports that include a synthesis of evaluative information and recommendations aligned to students’ performance.Conduct individual or group sessions for students.Ability to effectively facilitate group decision making processes to meet the needs of the student.Knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing CSE and Section 504.Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.The ability to complete re-evaluations as part of the triennial process for IEPs.The ability to provide counseling mandates, complete initial evaluations, present at CSE meetings, work with a district team of psychologists, etc.NYS School Psychologist Certification, K-12 fingerprinted.This position will continue as a Permanent Substitute strictly within the PPS Department
