This position reports to the Director of Student Support Services. Position is split between 3rd and 5th grade.Special Education Teacher Expectations- Consultant Teacher Services. Assesses student progress and determines the need for additional reinforcement or adjustments to instructional techniques.-Employs various teaching techniques, methods and principles of learning to enable students to meet their IEP goals.Special Education Teacher Key Qualities-Builds positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues.-Practices patience with all students, families and colleagues.-Always seeking new ways to teach students the way they learn.Applicant Requirements-Special Education K-6 certification required.This is a long-term substitute position from approximately November 10th through December 19th.The approval of substitute teacher pay rate is as follows: Per diem rate:-Non-certified substitute teacher: $105 daily rate-NYS Certified substitute teacher: $130 daily rate-Retired New York State Certified teachers from Waterford-Halfmoon UFSD: $180 daily rate-Retired New York State Certified teachers from any district: $155 daily rateShort term leave (1-89 consecutive days for same WHUFSD teacher):-Days 1-10: Per diem rates for non-certified and certified as listed above-Days 11 – 89: $170 daily rate.
