Number of Positions: Length of Position: 01/06/2025 - 06/30/2025Salary: $49,202 -$69,480, commensurate with experienceLocation: Southern Adirondack Education Center, Hudson Falls, NYWork Hours: Monday - Friday ; 8:00-2:45PThe New Visions Engineering instructor plays a vital role in preparing students for careers in engineering through comprehensive classroom instruction and hands-on experience. The instructor delivers engineering curriculum while establishing valuable partnerships with industry professionals to secure job shadowing opportunities. Through these placements, students gain real-world exposure and practical understanding of engineering concepts. The instructor will emphasize workplace safety protocols and professional ethics throughout the program, ensuring students develop proper industry practices. By bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications, the instructor guides students in their career exploration while maintaining strong relationships with engineering firms and monitoring student progress during field placements. This dual focus on classroom learning and experiential education creates a comprehensive learning environment that prepares students for future success in engineering fields.Develop and deliver engaging curriculum on engineering topics, including advanced placement physics and advanced placement calculus.Coordinate and supervise job shadowing experiences.Mentor students in career planning and college preparation.Collaborate with school administration to provide a cohesive program for students in the region.Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams;Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;Prepare students for certification exams by reviewing materials and administering practice tests;Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, exam results, and other data;Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field;Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and industry partners in the community;Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;Other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsMust hold a NYSED Certification in the area of Mathematics Grades 7-12 AND Physics Grades 7-12 orBe eligible for a Transitional A Certification in the Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics area by having relevant industry experience in one of the STEM fields listed below:Electrical/Electronic TechnologyGeospatial Intelligence/Geographic Information SystemsMechanical TechnologyDiverse candidates are encouraged to apply
