Donald Myers Center, Saratoga SpringsWork Hours: Monday - Friday; 8 - 2:45The New Visions Health instructor will prepare students for exploration of the healthcare field through a variety of classroom instruction; and establishing clinical rotations for job shadowing. The instructor will guide students in applying their learning to real-world situations, emphasizing safety, ethics, and professionalism. By collaborating with healthcare professionals and facilities, the instructor will secure valuable clinical placements for job shadowing as an enhancement of their learning experience. Develop and deliver engaging curriculum on healthcare topics, including government and economics through the lens of the healthcare industry. Coordinate and supervise job shadowing experiences. Mentor students in career planning and college preparation. Collaborate with school administration and program counterpart to provide a cohesive program for students in the region.Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams; Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles; Prepare students for certification exams by reviewing materials and administering practice tests; Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data; Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field; Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and industry partners in the community; Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates; Other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsCandidates who do not hold the following certifications, but have the appropriate industry experience and/or degree are encouraged to apply.
