Job DescriptionNumber of Positions: 1Salary: $49,202 - $69,480, commensurate with experienceLocation: Southern Adirondack Education Center, Hudson FallsWork Hours: M- F; 8 -2:45The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Health Occupations Clinical Instructor will be a dedicated educator who prepares CTE students for rewarding careers in the healthcare industry. Through hands-on clinical training in supervised environments, the clinical instructor guides students in applying their learning to real-world situations while emphasizing safety, ethics, and professionalism. By collaborating with healthcare professionals and facilities, the clinical instructor secures valuable clinical placements and internships for students, further enhancing their learning experience. The CTE Health Occupations Clinical Instructor also prepares students for industry-recognized certifications and exams, ensuring they are well-equipped to enter the workforce or pursue higher education in the healthcare field.Implement a curriculum that meets state and national standards for health occupations education.Instruct the necessary skills and knowledge related to various healthcare professions, such as nursing, medical assisting, and allied health.Provide hands-on clinical training in a supervised environment, such as a school-based lab or a partnering healthcare facility.Monitor and evaluate student performance, offering guidance and feedback to help them improve their skills and knowledge.Ensure that students adhere to safety protocols, ethical standards, and professional guidelines while in the clinical setting.Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and exams, such as the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam.Stay current with advancements in healthcare technology, practices, and regulations to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant and up-to-date.Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and industry partners in the community;Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;Other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsCandidates who do not hold the following certifications, but have the appropriate industry experience and/or degree are encouraged to apply. All applicant credentials will be reviewed by WSWHE BOCES Regional Certification Officer.Must hold a valid New York State RN License; andMust hold a valid NYS Career and Technical Education(CTE) certification in Nurse's Assistant 7-12 or be eligible for this certificate based on relevant industry experience (2 years minimum RN experience with 1 full year working as a nurse in the care of chronically ill or elderly patients in a long term care/skilled nursing facility)Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply
