Number of Positions: 1Salary: $46,859-$55,271, Commensurate with experienceLocation: Warrensburg Central School District, Warrensburg, New York Work Hours: Monday-Friday 800am-2:45pmThe EMT Instructor is expected to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program that is aligned with the EMT course requirements as prescribed by the New York State Department of Health.Teach courses in emergency medical services leading to EMT certification, as part of a NYSED-approved Career and Technical Education (CTE) program;Develop and implement curriculum aligned with New York State standards for EMT training programs;Maintain knowledge of current protocols, techniques, and developments in emergency medicine;Instruct classes covering topics such as anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, patient assessment, critical thinking skills, communications, and ethical practices;Organize and lead laboratory activities and simulations to provide hands-on experiences for students;Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams;Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;Prepare students for certification exams by reviewing materials and administering practice tests;Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field;Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and healthcare partners in the community;Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;Other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementsMust hold a valid NYS Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Management Services (DOH BEMS) CIC (Certified Instructor Coordinator) certification.Must hold a valid license issued by the NYS DOH in one of the following areas:EMT-BParamedicRegional Emergency Medical Organization(REMO)ER Doctors and ER Registered Nurses must provide REMO number or equivalentMust hold a valid NYS Career and Technical Education(CTE) certification in Emergency Medical Services 7-12 or be eligible for this certificate based on relevant industry experience (4 years minimum or 2 years minimum with related degree)Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.***For the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Certification path, the successful candidate will need to provide letters of occupational experience to become certified in NYS.
