The classroom teacher shall be directly responsible to the Building Principal or other designated supervisor for the purpose of carrying out assigned portions of the educational program.Responsibilities:Plan appropriately for class presentation.Adapt methods and materials to meet students' individual needs and abilities.Orient students in regard to subject content, goals and objectives and teach them in a consistent manner.Present recommended course content in assigned classes.Evaluate and report on student progress at designated intervals according to established procedures.Maintain student attendance records in the prescribed manner.Be familiar with and operate under school policies, procedures and regulations.Supervise the care and use of classroom equipment and supplies and maintain proper inventory procedures.Maintain supervision necessary for general student safety and control.Participate in the development of curriculum and programs.Cooperate with professional and non-professional staff of this school district and other school districts in collaborative activities.Serve as case manager for assigned students.Qualifications: Must be NYS certified or certifiable in any of the following areas:Students with Disabilities B-2Students with Disabilities 1-6Students with Disabilities 5-9Students with Disabilities 7-12SPED K-12Location: Southern Adirondack Education Center, Hudson Falls
