Plan appropriate activities for students assigned to case load;Adapt materials and methods to meet the individual needs of all the students;Develop appropriate communication systems for those students requiring that type of intervention;Orient students to the activities that are planned and provide for a comprehensive scope and sequence of activities;Control and supervise students in a manner that will be conducive to learning;Participate as a meaningful member of the special education team in relationship to the students total program;Be aware of all aspects of the students program so that activities used for speech and language development can enhance the students total programs;Integrate speech and language activities within the classroom environment to the maximum extent possible;Evaluate and report on student progress at designed intervals according to established procedures;Maintain therapy attendance records in the prescribed manner;Be familiar with and cooperate with school policies and regulations;Develop budget necessary for therapy and submit to appropriate administrator;Make recommendations and aid in development of curriculum;Cooperate as fully as possible with professional and non-professional staffs of this school district and other school districts in conjunctive activities;Other duties ad assigned.Minimum Qualifications:NYS Certification as a Speech Language PathologistPreferred Experience:School-based speech therapy working with elementary special education students;Knowledge of students with autism.Number of Positions: 1 Work Hours: TBDLocation: TBD (some travel required)
