Number of Positions: 1Salary: $155,000-$165,000Location: LaCrosse Street Offices, Hudson FallsWork Hours: TBDThe Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services is responsible for the operation, supervision and evaluation of the WSWHE BOCES Administrative Services, which includes fiscal services, budgeting, operations and maintenance, regional and BOCES transportation, facilities and construction, property and risk management, purchasing, and the BOCES business office in compliance with pertinent laws, and Board policies. Serves as a consultant for fiscal affairs to component school districts and as Clerk to the Board of Education.Coordinates, supervises, and provides the leadership for the business office function, payroll, financial planning, and budgeting for all BOCES programs and services;Coordinates the preparation of CO-SERS for submission to the State Education Department and acts as liaison with the Bureau of School District Organization;Coordinates and supervises the personnel function through the Director of Human Resources/Personnel including the recruitment, selection, and appointment of staff;Supervises and provides leadership for the Building and Grounds function and capital improvements;Participates in labor negotiations and interprets collective bargaining agreements;Consults with component school districts on all matters and problems relating to fiscal management;Serves and carries out required duties of Clerk of Board of Education and Records Management Officer;Coordinates the Health Insurance Consortium in concert with a user committee;Works with the consultants and superintendents;Agenda development for the health insurance meetings;Oversight responsibility for Benefits Coordination Service;Coordinates the Southern Adirondack Public Schools Workers' Compensation Plan;Chair of the Executive CommitteeWorks with the consultants and Superintendents & Business OfficialsAgenda development for the Workers Compensation meetingsOversees the preparation of reports for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services covering all aspects of business activities, as well as reports required by State and Federal agencies;Supervises the Transportation Coordinator and Risk Management Services;Serves as a member of the Administrative Cabinet;Performs other duties as assigned by the District Superintendent.Minimum Requirements:Has a strong financial/accounting history and background, and strong organizational and analytical skills; Certified Public Accountant preferred, or equivalent, related experience;Has a proven track record developing and implementing multimillion-dollar budgets; experience as a school business official preferred;Holds appropriate New York State SDL or SBA certification;Has experience in health insurance and workers' compensation trusts as well as general labor relations;Is flexible in designing programs and services that best meet the needs of school districts in the WSWHE BOCES region; makes creative use of existing resources;Demonstrates a leadership style characterized by strong communication and exemplary trouble-shooting skills, integrity, fairness, and efficient use of time;Complies with the appropriate laws, regulations, policies, and procedures affecting WSWHE BOCES;Has the skills required to collaborate and work effectively with school districts, WSWHE BOCES, and the New York State Education Department, recognizing the unique needs that exist in each district;Is highly visible and accessible to WSWHE BOCES and its component school districts and is able to translate complex information into everyday language;Demonstrates a collaborative leadership style and an ability to foster and develop relationships with business and industry, higher education, school districts, and communities to work collaboratively and promote BOCES;Is a team player with the necessary qualities for creating a successful and harmonious workplace;Is a lifelong learner with excellent presentation and facilitation skills and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit;Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.In addition to the application on OLAS, please attach the following in OLAS or by email at apply@wswheboces.org:Letter of interestUpdated resumeCopy of certificationTranscriptsThree (3) written letters of referenceThank you for your interest in our BOCES!
