White Plains Public Schools is seeking a Co-Director of Special Education Grades 6-12 to start July of 2026. The selected candidate in this 12-month administrative probationary position will oversee both the District’s compliance issues related to Special Education and program development and quality. Candidates must have NYS certification as a School District Administrator or a School District Leader and should also have the following qualifications: Thorough knowledge of Special Education rules and regulations related to a large district program Strong interpersonal skills High level of knowledge of best practices in curriculum, instruction, assessment and professional development related to Special Education Ability to formulate, transmit, understand, and carry out complex oral and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative working relationships with all staff members including administrators, teachers and support staff Ability to effectively partner with parents to support student growth Evidence of exemplary follow-through on tasks and responsibilities. The ability to utilize instructional technology Must be able to travel between school buildings Must be able to work extended hours and days Salary placement as per the White Plains Administrative and Supervisors Association agreement.
