Minimum Acceptable Training & Experience: Possession of a high school or one (1) year experience in building maintenance or cleaning work Requirements: · Skill in performing building cleaning tasks & unskilled maintenance; · Familiarity with use of cleaning supplies & equipment and with common tools used for repair & maintenance; · Ability to understand and follow oral instructions; · Ability to get along well with others, particularly teachers & students; · Dependability; · Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Essential Job Functions: · Sweeps, mops and waxes floors using appropriate equipment; · Washes windows; · Dusts & cleans woodwork, furniture & other articles; · Participates in the operation & maintenance of low pressure boilers; · Loads & unloads truck & stock items in appropriate storage; · Replaces light bulbs & repairs switches; · Maintains building security by locking & unlocking doors & gates; · Shovels snow & sands sidewalks; · Collects & stores trash & garbage for pickup by the City · Delivers packages & messages; · Moves & sets up furniture, supplies & equipment; · Notifies supervisor of needed supplies & equipment for re-ordering; · Cleans & disinfects bathrooms, showers, etc.; · Performs related tasks as assigned.
