Confers with school administrators, faculty, staff, parents and students to ensure that the food service program complies with program mission and regulatory requirements; Determines the quantity of food to be prepared and insures adequate portions with minimal leftover; Orders food and supplies; Prepares and serves food following sanitary procedures and nutrition guidelines established by local, state, and federal regulations; Receives, stores and inventories food and supplies; Assists in implementing a catering program for special events; Operates computer point of sale terminal, computers, electronic mail, spreadsheet and word processing program; Completes cash receipts and bank deposit forms; Monitors meal service; Monitors food quality; Reports to Food Service management the need for equipment and facility repair, safety issues or accidents, and complaints and concerns regarding the program; Attends training courses and staff meetings; Fosters a positive attitude toward good nutrition practices and program mission; Participates in meetings with student advisory board; Merchandises program; Evaluates profit and cost statement and participation data.
