The White Plains City School District is looking for Teaching Assistants for its Extended School Year (ESY) program. Appropriate NYS certification as a Teaching Assistant is required. Program Dates: July 6 - August 14, 2026 (Monday – Friday). Staff Meeting – July 1, 2026, 9 am – 3 pm Elementary/Middle Hours: Monday 8:10 am -2:30 pm, includes 15 minute staff meeting. Tuesday– Friday, 8:10 am – 2:15 pm High School SAIL Hours: Monday 8:00 am – 12:30 pm, includes 15 minute staff meeting. Tuesday-Friday 8:00 am – 12:15 pm* *High School Staff will be expected to work a full day on trip days. QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience working with classified students with severe disabilities in instructional settings. Skill in instructing students and coordinating student activities. Ability to work effectively with students, families, school administrators, teachers and staff. Ability to understand and follow school policies and procedures. Ability to independently handle assigned tasks. Excellent record of attendance DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance to staff as directed by Program Supervisor, Psychologist and/or Social Worker Coordinator Participate in assigned classroom instruction and student activities. Implement student attendance and disciplinary procedures in coordination with teachers. Attend professional development as scheduled. Actively supervise all outside activities Consistent implementation of intervention plans Follow classroom routines and structures as laid out by the classroom teacher.
