NYS Students w/Disabilities Biology 7-12 or Biology 7-12 AND Students w/Disabilities All Grades certification is required for an anticipated leave replacement Special Education Biology Teacher position at White Plains High School. Position is expected to become available in February and continue through June 30, 2026. Bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required. Eligibility requirements include the following: experience teaching Biology (co-taught and self-contained)an understanding of New York State K12 Science Learning Standards (New Science Standards)the ability to develop effective, standard-aligned lessons that support student learning and achievement of school academic objectives, benchmarks, and state learning standardsknowledge of and compliance with student IEPs. utilize curriculum resources and differentiate instruction to meet learner support needsexperience working with diverse populations of students, parents and familiesproficiency in building relationships with families of ECS students through frequent communication about students’ progress and ways that families can support their children’s learningthe ability to engage in self-reflection regarding performance and professional growth; actively seek professional learning opportunitiesSalary placement as per the White Plains Teachers Association salary schedule.
