Confers with school administrators, faculty, staff, parents and students to ensure that the food service program complies with program mission and regulatory requirements;Determines the quantity of food to be prepared and insures adequate portions with minimal leftover;Orders food and supplies;Prepares and serves food following sanitary procedures and nutrition guidelines established by local, state, and federal regulations;Receives, stores and inventories food and supplies;Assists in implementing a catering program for special events;Operates computer point of sale terminal, computers, electronic mail, spreadsheet and word processing program;Completes cash receipts and bank deposit forms;Monitors meal service;Monitors food quality;Reports to Food Service management the need for equipment and facility repair, safety issues or accidents, and complaints and concerns regarding the program;Attends training courses and staff meetings;Fosters a positive attitude toward good nutrition practices and program mission;Participates in meetings with student advisory board;Merchandises program;Evaluates profit and cost statement and participation data.
