The Secondary Instructional Coach for ELL Programs position is a probationary tenure track position that requires NYS certification in ESOL or ESOL and a 7-12 Content Specific Area or ESOL and Bilingual Extension. Goals of the Secondary Instructional Coach for ELL Programs is to provide in-classroom coaching to bilingual/dual language, ENL and SLA teachers in ELL programs, and to model exemplary instructional practices and pedagogical structures that are proven to support the academic success and enrichment of ELLs. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:At least 3 years of successful teaching in a Bilingual or ENL setting and have achieved tenure in NYSDisplay a rich, substantive knowledge both of academic subject matter and of pedagogyHave a demonstrated record of seeking opportunities to collaborate actively with colleagues on teaching and learning challengesDemonstrate knowledge of district curriculum, programs, and initiatives in Dual Language, Bilingual Education, ENL and SLA DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Provide content-based instructional coaching to dual language, bilingual, ENL and SLA teachers through demo lessons, in-classroom coaching, co-teaching, co-planning, consulting on environments, grade-level discussions, faculty workshops, and other associated professional learning supports.Facilitate curriculum developmentMust be able to travel between buildings and participate in out of district trainingThis position is not administrative and does note include duties related to student discipline, teacher supervision or building management. Salary placement as per the White Plains Teacher Association salary schedule with full benefits.
