Assists in the preparation of specifications for bids and requests for proposals for all departments. Must be eligible to sit for the Purchasing Assistant Civil Service Exam. Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience: Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma and either: (A) Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 60 credits at a recognized college or university and three (3) years of work experience in purchasing; or (B) Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 60 credits at a recognized college or university at four (4) years of office experience, including two (2) years which involved purchasing activities.
