Must currently hold the title of Office Assistant II-Spanish Speaking or be eligible to sit for the upcoming Office Assistant II-Spanish Speaking exam. Knowledge of IEP Direct, Excel, Office 365 preferred.MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a high school or equivalency diploma and either:A) Two (2) years of general office experience involving the use of automated equipment for word processing; orB) Satisfactory completion of one (1) year of a business program at an approved college*, business or secretarial school which must have included course work in word processing and one (1) year experience as stated in (A); orC) Satisfactory completion of a training course in word processing can be substituted on a month-by-month basis for the training and/or experience as stated in (A) or (B).Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the Internet, Outlook, electronic mail).Ability to problem solve job-related issues.Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.Ability to process paperwork accurately according to standardized procedures.GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs a wide variety of office support, clerical and word processing tasks requiring proficiency in both the English and Spanish languages; does related work as required.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Under supervision, an incumbent of this class performs a wide variety of tasks providing office support for executive, managerial, administrative and/or professional staff. Independent action is exercised when routine procedures or clearly defined policies are involved. This position requires a full range of skills in the operation of word processing and peripheral equipment, maximizing equipment and software capability in producing correspondence, records, forms, reports, statistical information, technical material, etc; as well as setting up and maintaining automated records and filing systems, and compiling information for management needs. A high degree of initiative and independent action is required to ensure the timely and accurate processing of the workflow. Assignments involve significant contact with public officials and the public, requiring proficiency in both English and Spanish in order to provide interpretive and information services and to translate documents.NOTE: Data entry experience may not be substituted for the above required word processing experience.SUBSTITUTIONS: Satisfactory completion of 30 credits* at a recognized college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of the above experience. No substitution is allowed for the one (1) year of word processing experience.
