ANTICIPATED SPEECH & LANGUAGE DISABILITIES LEAVE REPLACEMENTS The West Islip Union Free School District is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and highly qualified educators to join our student support team for multiple anticipated leave replacement positions during the 2026-2027 school year. Openings include a full-year leave replacement and an anticipated 3-month leave replacement. We are looking for professionals who thrive in a collaborative environment and are deeply committed to supporting the communication and academic success of all students in line with our mission, “Every Student, Every Day!” Certification Required: Speech and Language Disabilities or New York State SLP License Qualifications: The ideal candidates must possess the following qualifications and professional experience: ? Caseload Management: Must have the proven ability to manage a large caseload of students with mandated speech-language services efficiently and effectively. ? Clinical Experience: Must have direct, hands-on experience related to the delivery of school-based speech/language therapy. ? Assessment Expertise: Must have extensive experience administering and interpreting a wide variety of speech/language testing and diagnostic tools. ? Team Collaboration: Must have the ability to work as an active, flexible member of a cohesive team that collaborates closely on meeting the needs of individual students. Additional Professional Expectations: ? Pedagogy: Well-versed in evidence-based therapeutic practices and their integration into classroom settings. ? Technology Integration: Familiarity with IEP management software (such as Frontline/IEP Direct) and digital speech-therapy tools. ? Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for writing comprehensive IEP goals, progress reports, and connecting with families. ? Compliance: Strong understanding of state and federal special education regulations and timelines.
