ANTICIPATED SPANISH TEACHER PROBATIONARY The West Islip Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated and innovative educator to join our World Languages Department for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about fostering a love for language and culture while utilizing modern, literacy-based instructional practices. This is an anticipated probationary opening for a professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to the success of all students in line with our mission, “Every Student, Every Day!” Certification Required: NYS Spanish 7-12 Certification Required (dual certification in Italian preferred) Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be well-versed in the following: ? Standards: ACTFL and NYS World Language Standards. ? Pedagogy: A literacy-based approach to teaching language. ? Technology Integration: Proficiency in Google for Education, Edpuzzle, and AI tools. ? Communication Modes: Familiarity with the three modes of communication (Interpretive, Interpersonal, and Presentational) and the ability to articulate their classroom application.
