The West Islip UFSD is seeking an Executive Director of Technology and Innovation. The successful candidate will be: - a visionary educator with the ability to create a culture of innovation that provides exciting, forward thinking learning opportunities for students.- knowledgeable of Instructional Technology, Network Technology, Inter-Networking, Information Security and Privacy frameworks.- responsible and accountable for budget, asset management, governance, risk assessment and management strategies related to technology in the district.- an effective communicator who can develop a high-performing team by articulating job responsibilities, performance expectations and providing feedback.- a proactive and “outside the box” thinker with excellent verbal and written skills.- New York State administrative certified (SDA/SDL).The successful candidate will be able to:- work collaboratively with district stakeholders and lead a diverse team through active listening and effective communication.- create a vision for technology integration K-12 that supports student learning. - take initiative to foresee and address potential challenges that may impact the district (supply chain, cybersecurity, etc.).- evaluate, design and operationalize innovative learning spaces.- create an action plan related to Technology and Information Security to ensure student and staff needs are met in the current school year and subsequent years.- develop, implement and facilitate professional development and build awareness (for staff and community) in all areas of technology.Interested candidates should submit cover letter and resume through OLAS to the attention of Brian Taylor, Executive Director of Human Resources no later than Monday, December 12, 2022.
