The West Islip School District is seeking a short-term leave replacement for a high school ELA teacher. Candidate should be familiar with NYS ELA Standards and uses them for unit and lesson plan development. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conductive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning. Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student teaching styles. Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching.
