The Valley Stream Central High School District, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking qualified candidates for a school Nurse position in a 7-12 school building. The position is full-time, follows the school calendar with all paid holidays and breaks. School Nurses do not work July or August. However, there are workdays over the summer for additional compensation at the full daily rate of pay. Additional requirements/responsibilities are outlined below. School Nurses will: Provide physical, visual and auditory screening examinations for students and school personnel, with the assistance of High School Physician.Issue treatment and first aid during emergencies to High School Students and staff members.Ensure all health records are in compliance with school guidelines, maintain medical documents and prepare required medical records for school authorities.Coordinate transportation of ill person to medical facility, doctor, dentist or their home if no further medical treatment is requiredCommunicate with students, families and administration relative to the health and welfare of students.
