Valley Stream Central High School DistrictAssistant Superintendent for Finance & OperationsThe Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated leader whose responsibilities will include supervising the District’s Finance and Operations. The essential responsibilities of this position include providing oversight and leadership in all financial and operational functions of the district. Duties include, but are not limited to financial statements, cash management, accounting, financial audits, budget development, long-range fiscal planning, state aid reports and claims, purchasing, payroll, accounts payable and receivable, benefits, risk management, and capital construction.Additionally, the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations supervises the District Director of Facilities, the district custodial/maintenance staff, and all aspects of the district’s transportation services, including the dispatcher, bus drivers, and transportation coordinator.The Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations is responsible for the formal training and development of staff, as well as compliance with state and federal regulations and laws related to school district financial and physical plant operations. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a wide array of staff, administrators, parents, and community members. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, and other technological platforms, are a priority.NYS School Business District Leader Certification is required.
