The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Department Chairperson for Special Education. The successful candidate must possess valid NYS certification in both Special Education and School Building Leadership. The position is for a 7-9 building. The Department Chairperson teaches one class per day and engages in leadership responsibilities for the remaining time. Leadership responsibilities include supervision of staff, curriculum development, parent outreach, data analysis, conducting annual meetings as well as other administrative tasks.
