The Valley Stream CHSD, a beautifully diverse school community, is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director for Special Education. The Assistant Director for Special Education will work directly under the supervision of the Director of Special Education. The successful candidate must possess valid NYS certification in the area of Special Education and School district Leadership. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Supervision of special education teaching staff and PPS staff, including observationsChairing CSE meetingsCoordination of professional development for special education and PPS staffParticipation in data meetingsIEP development and managementCoordination of transition planning with the district transition coordinatorWorking directly with the out of district school counselorLiaison for students in out of district placementsParticipation in state reportingCoordination of special education transportationCoordination of related servicesOther related duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and InstructionApply on OLAS
