Bouton High SchoolVoorheesville, New York 12186 Notice of Vacancy Teaching Assistant (HS) The Position The Voorheesville Central School District has an available full-time, probationary Teaching Assistant position supporting students on the Secondary Campus. The teaching assistant works closely with the classroom and the special education teachers. Salary and benefits are as noted in the current UEV contract. Qualifications Must be certified as a teaching assistant.Ability to work effectively with students with a variety of disabilities highly desirable; ADHD, Autism, Learning Disability, Behavioral Disabilities and Language and Sensory Disorders.Experience working with students with special needs preferred.Excellent work habits and employment attendance history.Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Excellent references. General Duties 1. Provide support and supervision to students in the general education classroom.2. If assigned to a special education role, assist classroom teacher, special education teacher and related service providers in the implementation of the students’ individual education plans. 3.
