VOORHEESVILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTVoorheesville, New York 12186 Notice of Vacancy Teaching Assistant The PositionThe Voorheesville Central School District has available probationary Teaching Assistant positions supporting special education students at all levels in the general education classroom. The teaching assistant works closely with the classroom and the special education teachers. The hours are generally 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m for Elementary and 7:30 am to 2:30 pm for Middle and High School positions. The positions begin September 1, 2023. The salary is as noted in the current UEV contract. QualificationsMust be certified as a teaching assistant.Ability to work effectively with students with a variety of disabilities highly desirable; ADHD, Autism, Learning Disability, Behavioral Disabilities and Language and Sensory Disorders.Experience working with students with special needs preferred.Excellent health, work habits and employment attendance history.Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.Excellent references. General Duties1. Provide support to special education students in the general education classroom. 2. Assist classroom teacher, special education teacher and related service providers in the implementation of the students’ individual education plans. 3. Monitor and assist students in all aspects of the school day including ADLs Application Procedures: Apply through OLAS or:1. Write a letter of application indicating interest in position.
