VOORHEESVILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTVoorheesville Elementary SchoolVoorheesville, NY 12186 Notice of VacancySchool Counselor The Position The Voorheesville Elementary School has one full-time, probationary position for a School Counselor beginning September 1, 2023. The person appointed to this position will be responsible for providing school counseling services for students in grades k-5. The duties will include, but are not limited to, delivery of comprehensive developmental counseling and support services in the areas of academic advisement, educational decision making and personal and social development. This person will serve as educational consultant to parents, faculty and community. Salary and benefits for this position are stated in the teacher contract. Qualifications Fully certified in New York State as a School Counselor. 2. There will be a background check and fingerprinting (as required by law). 3. Experience at the middle school level or with young adolescents. 4. Detailed knowledge of comprehensive school counseling programs and practices. 5. Skilled in academic advisement, including all types of academic and social/emotional interventions. 6. Ability to work alone as solo middle school counselor and as part of academic teams. 7. Experience with scheduling, master schedule development, grade reporting and student management systems. 8. Superior planning, organizational and writing skills. 9. Excellent health, work habits, and employment attendance history.10. Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
