VOORHEESVILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICTVoorheesville Middle SchoolVoorheesville, NY 12186 Notice of VacancySchool Counselor The Position The Voorheesville Elementary School has a one-year maternity leave position for a School Counselor beginning August 31, 2022.The person appointed to this position will be responsible for providing school counseling services for students in grades K-5. The duties will include, but are not limited to, delivery of comprehensive developmental counseling and support services, addressing the preventative, developmental and remedial needs of students. This position involves the application of counseling theories as well as the application of individual and group approaches to assessment and evaluation. This person will serve as educational consultant to parents, faculty and community. Salary and benefits for this position are stated in the teacher contract. Qualifications Fully certified in New York State as a School Counselor. There will be a background check and fingerprinting (as required by law).Experience at the elementary level.Detailed knowledge of comprehensive school counseling programs and practices.Excellent working knowledge and competence in the application of counseling,consultation processes and social emotional interventions at the individual and group levels. Create and foster an inviting, safe, confidential atmosphere in which students are comfortable being involved in counseling process. Experience providing mandated counseling and maintaining progress notes.Superior planning, organizational and writing skills.Excellent work habits and employment attendance history.10.
