Virginia Road School is seeking a passionate and skilled MTSS AIS (Academic Intervention Services) Reading Teacher to provide targeted literacy support for students in grades K-2. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early literacy development in a supportive and collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide small-group reading intervention to students in need of additional support.Assess student reading levels and progress using research-based assessment tools.Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.Utilize evidence-based literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension strategies.Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate with parents/guardians about student needs and achievements.Participate in team meetings, professional development, and data-driven decision-making to enhance student outcomes.Support a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student confidence and growth.QualificationsRequired: New York State Certification in Literacy Dual Certification Preferred: New York State Certification in Elementary Education/Special EducationExperience in early childhood literacy instruction, including phonics-based and multi-sensory approaches.Strong understanding of the Science of Reading and structured literacy practices.Experience using data to inform instruction and drive student progress.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Passion for working with young learners and helping them build foundational literacy skills.Knowledge of Fundations, Heggerty and Orton-Gillingham preferred
