The Valhalla School District is seeking 2 Probationary HS Special Teachers for Valhalla High School for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidates will demonstrate value in collaboration, a student-centered classroom environment, and professional growth. NYS Certification: New York State Students with Disabilities 7-12?or?Generalist, and New York State subject area certification or SOCE (Statement of Continued Eligibility) in one of the following areas: Science or English. Responsibilities:Implement and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with learning disabilities, including goals, accommodations, and modifications, tailored to meet each student's unique needs.Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students' strengths and weaknesses, track progress, and modify instructional strategies as needed.Collaborate with general education teachers to provide co-teaching and instructional support, ensuring that students with disabilities are effectively integrated into regular classrooms.Create a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic success, social growth, and emotional well-being.Maintain up-to-date records of students' performance, attendance, and behavior, and communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders regarding student progress.Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.Comply with federal, state, and local regulations related to special education services and documentation.
