Valid NYS certification as an English to Speakers of Other Languages is required. Bilingual and Dual Certification candidates are preferred.Job Responsibilities Support the home language needs of students and familiesServe as a resource and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardiansPlan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiencesUtilize formative and summative assessment data to plan instructionIdentify and utilize different instructional resources and methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress.Use technology to support and enhance instruction.Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.Update records accurately and completely as required by laws and district policies.Prepare required progress reports throughout the year.Participate in department, school, and district meetings and professional development activities as appropriate.Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the principals or other appropriate administratorRequirementsNew York State Certification ENL/TESOL Dual Certification Preferred - Literacy or Special Education
