Speech & Language Pathologist QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Speech Pathology License.New York State Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSSH)/ Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).Experience with language-impaired children.New York State Bilingual Extension Certificate (for Bilingual Therapists), if certified. REQUIREMENTS:Implement treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in the area of speech and language development.Utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students’ strengths and deficits and prepare written evaluation reports as part of the intake process.Develop IEP goals and objectives for students evaluated in the intake process.Provide consultation to classroom staff in the area of speech and language.Submit updates and IEP goals in speech for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children.Provide guidance and workshops to parents to enhance the development of speech and language skills in the home.
