Job Description: The Speech and Language Pathologist assumes primary responsibility for providing services for children needing evaluation and/or remediation for speech and language deficits. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred. Duties & Responsibilities: • Implement treatment plans as part of therapeutic intervention in speech and language development. • Administer treatment of speech, language, voice, communication, and/or auditory processing disorder. • Utilize standardized tests as well as clinical observations to assess students’ strengths and deficits and prepares written evaluation reports as part of the intake process. • Develop IEP goals and objectives for students evaluated in the intake process. • Provide consultation to classroom staff in speech and language. • Submit updates and IEP goals in speech for annual reviews, requested reviews and graduating children. • Provide guidance and workshops to parents to enhance the development of speech and language skills in the home.Education & Experience: • New York State Speech Pathology License. • New York State Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped. • Experience with language-impaired children. • New York State Bilingual Extension Certificate (for Bilingual Therapists), if certified.
