Assistant PrincipalThe Valley Central School District is excited to announce an excellent opportunity for an experienced and highly qualified educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal for Montgomery Elementary School. This is a full-time, tenure track position effective July 1, 2024.The successful candidate will have a strong teaching background and a proven track record of elementary teacher leadership and management with a deep understanding of how children learn; highly effective instructional methods to support instructional improvement and a positive school climate Job Summary:We are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to join our team as an Assistant Principal. In this leadership role, you will work collaboratively with the Principal to provide instructional leadership, manage day-to-day operations, and foster a positive and productive learning environment for all students. You will support in shaping the academic success and well-being of our students.Responsibilities:Assist the Principal in developing, implementing, and evaluating the school's curriculum and instructional programs.Observe and evaluate teachers, providing constructive feedback and coaching to enhance their practice.Monitor student progress and data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions.Assist the Principal in managing the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment.Oversee staff & student discipline and implement District policies and procedures consistently and fairly.Manage student schedules, attendance, and records.Supervise support staff and ensure they are effectively meeting the needs of students and teachers.Act as a liaison between external agencies and the school.Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.Communicate effectively with stakeholders about the school's mission, goals, and progress.Partner with parents and community members to support student learning and success.Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Principal.Participate in school improvement planning and initiatives.Stay informed about current educational trends and best practices.Qualifications:Master's degree in Education Administration NY State SBL certificate requiredDemonstrated leadership experience in an educational settingStrong understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, curriculum development, culturally responsive teaching and instructional best practicesExcellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholdersCommitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environmentKnowledge of New York State Education state standards, guidelines and proceduresSalary will be commensurate with experienceSubmit Applications on OLASDeadline: April 5, 2024
