Snapp Middle SchoolEffective July 1, 2024 Union-Endicott is looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to provide organization and instructional leadership for our JFS Middle School. JFS serves approximately 800 Grades 6-8 students. QUALIFICATIONS:Valid NYS Administrative Certification (SBL, SAS, or SDA) & Master’s Degree.Prior teaching and/or administrative experience at secondary level preferred.Completed application includes letter of interest, application (OLAS), all undergraduate and graduate transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and references. Valid NYS Administrative Certification (SBL, SAS, or SDA)2. Master’s degree in relevant field3. Prior administrative experience preferred.Reports to: Building PrincipalJob Goals: Assists the principal in directing and coordinating prescribed activities and programs. Provides Results-driven leadership to ensure the accomplishment of established goals, effective use of facilities and materials, and in general promote the welfare of the pupil in his or her educational environment. Assumes the role of the principal during the absence of the principal.Performance Responsibilities:1. Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessmenta. Assists the Principal and others in the development of procedures to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and instruction.b. Assists Principal in all relevant areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.c. Responsible for performance/data analysis to determine the correlation of student results and instruction.d. Analyzes student grades and progress reports.e. Serves as a member of the Response to Intervention Team and Attendance Team.f. Acts as Administrative Department Lead for one 6-12 or K-12 department.2. Building Administrationa. Responsibility for the master schedule, including assignment of staff, section development, room assignments, student schedule production, etc.b. Responsibility for making teacher supervision assignments.c. Responsible for scheduling student testing and proctoring assignments as well as any test modifications required for classified students. Plans for and maintains effective control of building use by maintaining a building calendar and coordinating building use with the Director of Facilities and Safety and others responsible for building use.d. Keeps accurate records and statisticse. Responsible for facilitating building-level implementation of BEDS and communicating with relevant District Office staff.f. Responsible for facilitating building-level V ADIR report and interfacing with Assistant Superintendent for Business and Elementary Education on final reporting.g. Prepares various state reports as needed and provides data or information to others in preparation of state reports.h. Responsibility for site safetyi. Serves as liaison to District and Community for school safety matters.j. Facilitates building safety drills.k. Regularly inspects the physical plant and communicates the Building Principal, Director of Facilities and Safety, etc.3.Student Management and Supporta. Responsible for student management and discipline.b. Implements all building and district discipline and attendance policies.c. Communicates effectively with all staff concerning student management and discipline.d. Acts as the liaison for Aides and Monitors to building/district administration.4. Staff Selection, Development and Evaluationa. Participates in the selection of new staff, professional and support. Responsibility may include sitting on screening committees, interviewing candidates, checking references, etc.b. Maintains full APPR caseload of staff observations and walk-throughs.c. Evaluates Aides, Monitors, and office staff, as assigned.d. Maintains working knowledge of all relevant employee contracts and, in particular, leave time provisions.e. Participates in staff orientation and mentoring activities.5. Communicationa. Provides effective communication with teachers, parents and studentsb. Schedules parent-teacher conferences and communicates information about conferences to parents and to staff.c. Assists in the preparation of handbooks and other communication to students, staff, and parents.d. Participates as a member of the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).e. Is available to serve as a community resource person.6. Othera. Implements all Board of Education policies.b. Assumes all responsibilities of the Principal when he is absent or out of the building. c. Performs other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
